Hotel Bienvenir, Madrid

Hotel Bienvenir concept was born in 2019, with the design studio Wanna taking on the challenge of transforming it into a four-star superior hotel with 45 rooms and molding the brand’s identity.

In 2021 the Hotel opened under its doors under the name IKONIK, Gran Vía. A chain with modern, you and innovative hotels that belongs to the Eurostars Hotel Company.

The new minimal art deco hotel

The hotel is located in a 1930s building in the art deco style, which retains many protected original features. Wanna successfully integrated this legacy into the interior design proposal, creating a fusion between yesterday and today with respect, harmony, and conceptual coherence.

The designer’s primary focus was to convey a nostalgic feeling of welcoming newcomers and travelers with warmth and open arms. To achieve this, Wanna balanced this nostalgia with a true sense of modernity, effortlessly incorporating the building’s original elements with a minimalist art deco style.

The hotel is characterized by geometric shapes that run through the design concept as a universal language, together with the modern art deco style. This is evident in the furniture, materials, lights, and the explosion of colours, ranging from soft pink to vibrant orange and blue, energizing the whole space.

The colours truly come into their own in the bright upholsteries. The upholsteries are created with two Gabriel fabrics: Atlantic and Savoy. Atlantic brings a fresh and modern expression with a discreet relief effect that adds depth. Savoy is a deluxe short pile velvet upholstery fabric that brings elegance with its matt, warm, and natural-looking surface, satiny soft touch, and opulent texture. Together, these two fabrics fit perfectly into the framework of the modern art deco style.
